She’s Got Style
NeverShoutNever was on the Xmas mix back in December. and today’s song is very similar to “30 Days”. he’s got a very unique style. yes, i have gone through his music, and most of it is (as hard as it is to believe) too nasally for me. i guess everyone has a limit. however there is one gem in this 4 song EP, “She’s Got Style”.

“She’s Got Style” – if you listen to the verse, i think he’s talking about an actress or celebrity. i prefer to ignore that part and consider the person in the song to be a more typical girl. what get’s me in this song is the beginning of the chorus. it’s so simple and the melody is so fun to sing. “‘Cause girl you got style / That what I love about you.” and i think i feel that way about some girls. anyway, the prechorus is catchy, but i love the lyrics of the second verse. what’s age anyway right?

Tim Be Told’s latest release – From The Inside EP

it took me forever to find this thing. there are like 4 great songs on this EP, but since this band and album is so new, i simply couldn’t find the lyrics to the songs… the interesting thing about this is that i heard about them from Chris Kung. (now you can see why i was skeptical when i was first told about them). but this band is legit. he apparently knows these guys because they used to go to his church or something. pretty cool. they have a bright future ahead of them, i’m sure.

“Analyze” – this song is so balanced and honest. he’s asking someone what he/she thinks about him. it’s like a conversation with twisty and turny melodies. the melody is the absolute best part, especially the falsettos. my favorite parts are the end of the chorus – “Your rhythm is love feeling is soul healing“, the end of the 2nd verse – “To survive, I criticize other people that I’ll never be / The truth is, I bruise too easily“, and the middle of the bridge – “Are you listening? Whatever / Why is this taking forever“. Here are the full lyrics because they were difficult to find:

“I Swear This Time I Mean It” – this is a song by Mayday Parade (though not the same Mayday Parade that i LOVE). this song is probably the ONLY good song on this album (the album is terrible and they better bring Jason Lancaster back). i’m not entirely sure what the meaning of the song is, but the chorus is exquisite:

Resolutions
new years resolutions:
- consistently workout (hopefully with the help from my workout buddy returning from asia) and play basketball twice a week (at least every sunday).
- eat clean by eating wayyy less fast food and cooking my own food instead of gorging at the dining hall. no meal plan for me.
- play more guitar (and piano) by bringing my keyboard and guitar equipment to school. and learn to play all my favorite songs by my favorite bands.
- know Jesus personally, not as a religion and not as a hobby/college project.

Check Yes Juliet
i just finished watching the last episode of Lost season 5. it was amazinggg, just like everyone said. i can’t wait to watch Lost together with some of you guys next semester. i hope we can make it a weekly thing.
so while watching, i realized that i realllly like the name “Juliet“.
maybe its because i like the character Juliet from Lost. maybe its because of the song “Check Yes Juliet” by We The Kings. also i don’t know why i thought of this, but i would love to call her by the nickname “Julez”. no julie or julia. Julez. but whatever it is, if any of you knows anyone named Juliet, please, don’t hesitate to introduce me :)

love this band. so fun. i don’t know why but i laugh every time i watch this.
it’s a very short clip off of their “In Person” documentary.

so far i’m almost caught up on Lost. it’s SO good, i was awake at 3am watching an episode. i told myself it would be the last for the night. then it ended on a cliffhanger… so of course i had to watch one last episode. then after that one, i had to force myself to go to bed. winter break :) love it.
